Cheaper Holidays Becoming Available Thanks to the Credit Crunch

As we all know, the credit crunch hasn’t done much to help out our finances but recent figures show that cheaper holidays are now becoming more available thanks to this dreaded situation.

Even though the current weakness of the pound makes taking a holiday to places in Europe much more expensive it is helping out in other areas to make certain aspects of holidays cheaper. As many airlines have had to cut back on many destinations that they fly to, they are now offering deals on other destinations to try and bring as many customers back as possible.

As well as many airlines lowering their prices, so are the hotels. Equally affected by the credit crunch, many hotel chains are lowering their prices so that more people will hopefully be attracted to staying there. If more and more hotels and airlines start offering these discounts and deals then we could soon see a price war which may result in the cheapest holidays seen in a long time.

Some of the biggest discounts can be found on last minute deals where travel companies are trying to fill spaces they may have left over on bookings. Even if they gave over 50% off, the companies would still be making more money than they would if the places were to be left empty.

Surprisingly it is not just the average holidays that are seeing massive discounts being given. Skiing holidays, cruises and trips to the Caribbean are all seeing their prices falling and some real bargains are becoming available.

Also, some good news for bargain hunters out there, the duty free limits have been more than doubles in many places allowing you to bring back much more gifts and souvenirs than you could before. Experts predict that this low price holiday craze won’t last very long and so if you are thinking of going away then now is probably the best time.

Many people are taking advantage of the deals currently being given on holidays and are already pre-booking package holidays and all inclusive holidays for later in the year. Searching the net will give you a wider rang of results and will most of the time give you cheaper prices than travel agents would.
